Sir John Houghton is a famous Welsh scientist He was was the co-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's scientific assessment working group when they received the Nobel Peace Prize . He is a former professor in atmospheric physics at the Oxford University, and also former Chief Executive at the Met Office.
The way he has been treated by climate change deniers is unfortunately all too typical of their poor reasoning , research and honesty.
Sir John Houghton is widely accused of having said " “Unless we announce disasters, no one will listen.". It is repeated again and again across the internet by dishonest or incompetent deniers . As he makes clear in the video clip inserted below he never said it. It is just a complete invention. This is all too typical of climate deniers who just do not check their facts.
