Friends of the Earth is a leading environmental pressure groups both in the UK and internationally. Over 30 years of campaigning in the UK it has helped to raise awareness of the environmental problems we all face. The failure of the main political parties to seriously meet the environmental challenge shows that the need for individual action for greater now than ever. Friends of the Earth is unique among the major individual organisations for its commitment to helping individuals become actively involved through a network of local groups. Swansea Friends of the Earth is the group that covers Swansea and Neath- Port Talbot. We also give advice in some of the surrounding valleys where there is no FoE group.
Swansea FoE have been in existence since 1984 and a number of our activists have been involved over a number of years becoming specialist campaigners in a particular environmental area.
Swansea Friends of the Earth was one of the first UK FoE groups to have its own website, but this particular website is new and we are still adding material to it at present.
